"How do you apply blush?"

Applying blush is easy. It only seems like it must be hard because a lot of women overdo it. Word to the wise -- if you think it might be too much, it is! It's not supposed to look like makeup, but rather like the rush of blood that comes naturally to the face with excitement or exertion. So no big red circles, please!

For a soft, natural blush look:

1. Lightly stroke the sides of a large, full blush brush against the sides of your pressed blush. Never tamp bristles straight down onto pressed makeup -- this will ruin your brush and your cosmetics.

2. Sweep the brush over the apple of each cheek once. Start next to the bridge of your nose and finish at the outermost edge of your cheekbone.

Remember, light and quick strokes are all that's needed. You can tone down accidental heavy-handed applications by giving your face a final dusting of your regular powder (over the blush).
